About the Event
One of the biggest oversights in treatment lies in the lack of inclusive care of the caregivers of patients we intend to treat. There is little research or resources for caregivers supporting loved ones through eating disorder recovery, yet caregivers take on a lot of the responsibilities, confusion, and fear. Caregiver’s often face loneliness, financial and emotional strain, and often struggle with work-life balance. This presentation will outline ways therapists can be proactive in supporting caregivers to create better wellness outcomes for the eating disorder patient and provide you with tools to support caregivers in the treatment process.
